About Ella

Ella’s entry into the world came with a surprise: she was born with Down syndrome. Nothing could have prepared us for the initial shock, but over the years it has become clear that she is exactly where she belongs.

Ella has grown into a sweet young woman with a strong moral compass. When she sees bad behavior or injustice, she speaks up. She was raised by her talented mother, Lois Bisese, and encouraged and mentored by her equally talented sister, Adaline Millar Bisese.

Ella loves to paint and often completes four or five paintings in a single day. Sometimes we quietly set aside a few of her best pieces because, as part of her creative process, she may decide to paint over them.

We hope you enjoy Ella’s work. All proceeds from her sales benefit Ella and are often used to purchase more canvases, paints and art supplies.
